Fear of the Dark is the ninth studio album released by British heavy metal band Iron Maiden. It topped the UK albums chart. Released on 11 May 1992, it was the final studio album to feature Bruce Dickinson as lead vocalist. Dickinson left the band following the Fear of the Dark support tour to pursue a solo career. He returned to Iron Maiden with 2000's Brave New World; Dickinson has been handling vocal duties since his return.
It was the final Iron Maiden album to be produced by Martin Birch, who retired shortly after its release.
